Caleb is 7!!!

How can I be old enough to have a 7 year old? When did that happen?
We started his birthday celebration with a very specifically requested birthday breakfast. "Three pancakes in a stack with a square of butter on top." Caleb said that instead of going for a birthday dinner he wanted a birthday breakfast, so that's what we did!
and of course, there were gifts. He's been wanting the DS game, Yoshi's Island, since before Christmas. They don't make it anymore and before we left the US we actually found a used copy and saved it for his birthday. He was super excited! And money, you can always make Caleb happy with money! Notice the Australia bag, it easier to find souveniers than wrapping paper around here- we just happened to be in the tourist stretch of the city when I realized I didn't have any paper :)
After his birthday brekky we went down to St. Kilda where there is a cool amusement park right along the beach and they stayed busy non-stop from 1pm till 7pm, with only sugar to keep them going!
When Caleb was in karate his teacher used to joke that we should get him a big mirror for his birthday because he was always making faces in the big studio mirror during class. Well, here's the next best thing:
They stood here in front of the funny mirrors for like half an hour!
And of course, lots of fun on the rides!
They were totally worn out by the end! We headed down to the beach for dinner and Ellie fell asleep on the bench at the restaurant before we were even finished eating. But Caleb was still awake enough to enjoy his cake when we got home.
Happy birthday Caleb! We love you- for so many reasons!
You're smart, smart, smart. Best reader in your class and really good at math.
A really good brother, even though you and Ellie fight, she's lucky to have you. I'm always amazed how sweet and unselfish you can be with her.
A true romantic. For no reason you climb up by me or dad and whisper "I love you." You told us once that you had three girlfriends, because "that was enough girlfriends"- the most memorable, Bailey, Lauren, and most recently, Lola.
You try so hard to be good. I can always see it in your face how bad you feel when you make mistakes, don't worry sweetie, it's okay!

Love you Caleb!
